A small release with a few corrections and small improvements.

  • Fixed +dmg on Hood of the Malefic (was 68 instead of 63)
  • Removed 2.4 options (LT, emberstorm and GCD/haste)
  • Moved the stat summary to the top of the Gear_Buffs tab, to allow you to check stats while making modification (especially hit).
  • New Items :
    • Amulet of Unfettered Magics
    • Sunflare
  • Fixed Drums of Battle haste value (was 27 instead of 20)
  • Fixed a problem when selecting a Necklace with a socket

didn’t know how else to contact you but the cast time in the Raid ISB tab doesn’t seem to be taking Bane into account

Great speadsheet XD, a real life saver.

I spotted one mistake though, Sextant of unstable currents shouldn’t give splldmg

You might want to update the stats on the Vengeful Gladiator’s Battle Staff. You currently have it as 46 hit, 28 fire damage. On Live it has 46 crit, 28 hit, so I’m guessing you transposed the numbers when copying it to the spreadsheet.

Thanks for all the hard work on the spreadsheet!

HI:

I just wanted to take a really quick moment and say, very nice. Great JOB!

However, I do want to bring one thing to your attention. When i plug in all of the appropriate gear and talent choices the DPS reading is entirely too high.

The reason why is because the times on your spreadsheet for each casted spell are not added to the previous cast times resulting in an unrealistic DPS.

Hi:

Awesome Job!!

I’ve tinkered around with your spreadsheets for quite a while now and I find them enjoyable and insightful.

I would suggest 4 changes:

1.) The DPS calculation is unrealistic. This is simple calculation problem that I have remedied and now I get near perfect ( 1-5 dps) difference between a real life battle in PVE and the Spreadsheet. If you would like my formulas just E-mail me. Essentially the cast times you used for each spell are not added to the previous cast times resulting in a inaccurate dps reading.

Exp: Cast 1 (300dmg) 2 sec :: Cast 2 (375dmg) 2 sec. — Instead of averaging these the cast time of the first cast needs to be added to the cast time of the second cast, because the dmg for Cast 2 didn’t start until the cast time for Cast 1 elasped.

2.) Please add PVP DPS. PVP DPS is on average 15-20% less, that PVE DPS. Certain talents allow curse mitigationup to 15% andthis does not take into account resistances.

3.) Please add a Resilience section. I spent along time working out a Resilience formula that actually works and I’dbe more than happy to give this to you as an addition to the Spreadsheet. Essentially Resiliece is a calculation not based on DPS or Mitigation, but the Probability of survival. One constant I have found, with a small variation is; 1% of Resilience adds 2.8-3.2% pobability of survival.

4.) A nice survival % meter would be nice. The value of healing and stamina plays a huge role in the “effective DPS” of a character. Bottom Line: 10 stamina = 3.875 EffectDPS, 10 Spell Dmg = 3.575 Effect. DPS. (based off of my testing) Basically 10 more stamina gives you a slightly higher slope to inflict dmg making it slightly more valuable for effective DPS purposes.

nvm i didn’t realise the cast time in the ISB tab was facoring in the lag

@holy: I’ll do that :)

@Abidos: Sextant does give you spell damage via its proc. The average equivalent passive effect is calculated in the “Advanced infos” tab, and then repported to the “Items” tab.

@Thorrak: Thanks, will be fixed.

@Jonathan & Gavin :

I don’t think the dps calcultated is far from the in-game values. Take a look at the WWS of a fight like Brutallus, number are close to the one from the spreadsheet. In fact, they are sometimes higher, due to the fact that the spreadsheet does not factor partial resists.

Hi Leulier:

Maybe you could explain my values then:

When I plug everything in, it says that my DPS should be around 800-825. The reality in PVE is around 620-650 DPS using the old Dmg Meter program. The Dmg Meter could be wrong, but when I adjusted the cast times to represent the stacking of the previous cast, the DPS reading is very very close to Dmg Meter.

The current calculation appears to take two cast times and then divide those by the total dmg, However the dmg for cast two doesn’t even start until the cast time for cast 1 has elasped. Its only a second or two, but it makes a huge difference. In other words, the first cast inflicts dmg through out the entire cast sequence, the last spell does not. The last spell only inflicts dmg from the start cast of the last spell to the end of the last cast.

=IF(B22=1,(GCD+lag)/(1-MAX(1,base_miss-hit-suppr*2)/100)+E22,(GCD+lag)/(1-MAX(1,base_miss-hit-suppr*2)/100))

Notice how, if the previous spell was cast, then it adds that previous cast time to the current cast time. This corrects the problems with castimes. The Result is very very close to Dmg Meter unless DMG meter is completely wrong…. which it could be..

The latest version of the spreadsheet (Warlock_dps_v23.xls) is giving me circular reference errors on the DPS page with cells d30, f27, f30, and j27.

Awesome spreadsheet.

As a newcomer to the spreadsheet my only request would be a base stats summary box that you can match up to the in-game or armory character stats for getting your gear initially input into the spreadsheet correctly.

ie If your in-game stamina/int/spell dmg matches these box’s then you have correctly input all your characters gear/gems/stats etc into the spreadsheet.

I have spent ages ticking and unticking raid buffs and removing proc item damage to see if I have got a correct starting point.
