Two small news.

  1. I have updated the FAQ page with new … frequently asked questions !
  2. I have added a new page to show the features I’m working on, or nice ideas players have suggested I that I will add in a future version : Planned Features. Of course, you can continue to post on the Elitist Jerks “official” topic that I read very often. This page is also a reminder for me ;-)

I’ve found your spreadsheet enormously useful for making decisions about talents, spells, and gear. Thank you for putting so much effort into it. I’ve been trying to encourage other players to use it by constructing a guide on the Warlock’s Den:

I have been using the spreadsheet and I love it however I have encountered two problems. The first being that CoD is not being calculated in my total DPS when I select it as the Curse I am casting in the drop down menu. The second has to do with number of Shadow Users in the “Raid ISB” tab, mine doesn’t seem to be properly updating and modeling ISB uptime when I increase the number of warlocks in the raid. We usually run 4 Warlocks and 2 SP, (1 Affliction, 3 Destro) so I need to change it from its default but the Raid ISB Value does not update when I select another Shadow User and put in their crit values. Thanks for the help!

Great job on the spreadsheet. What I’d like to see is a linking between the gear and dps tabs. I think it’d be great to enter all your gear/gems and have that translate over to the dps fields that currently fill out manually. That way it’d be easy to see what changing a gem or a new piece of gear would do for dps. Thanks again for creating such a valuable tool :)

Dana, it already does that. It took me a bit to figure it out myself and the first few times I overwrote some of his functions so I had to redownload the spreadsheet and start again from scratch when I realized what I’d done. Try checking out each block before typing into it so you don’t accidentally overwrite any functions he’s got built into the spreadsheet. I know I overwrote hit/crit %, stam/int etc.

Also on the raids ISB page he autofills your crit/hit/dps so you only have to fill out the other shadow users and don’t have to touch your own.

I have to say I LOVE the ability to load in and save multiple sets of gear. I only wish there were MORE sets.

A couple of changes needed - All changes have been test on live server to verify.

1.) Shadow Bolt Damage: The bonus pet spell damage needs to be added to the bonus damage and calculated in the Bonus Spell Coefficient. The current formula is off the exact amount of the difference.
2.) Fire Shield Damage: Fire shield dmg for Imp needs to be added, this corrects the inaccurate dps for the pet.
3.) Pets need to receive 30% of the master Crit chance. Currently the pets are at 5%, but they also get 30% of the masters Crit.

Below are the ACTUAL tested DPS numbers for each pet.

Pets DPS Table
Felguard 259.15
Felhunter 52.30
Imp 118.51
Succubus 107.28
Voidwalker 59.43

MASTER PROFILE:

Bonus Spell Dmg for this is: 1191.00
Soul Link
Succubus only has 8% Improved Dmg from talents, but 4% Improved Shadow Dmg on the Affliction side.

Just noticed bloodlust / drums do not affect felguard dps - (assume the others as well)

Where is Shadowburn in this rotation or excel sheet?

For orcs, can you add an optional buff to accommodate Blood Fury? I understand that it is a conditional buff used only in appropriate situations, but an option to include regular usage of BF would better illustrate orc dps.

For the selection of Drums of Battle in gear buffs, could there be an option to allow for an entire group of leatherworkers - and thus almost 100% uptime of drums?

Nice freaking work! I wonder if I’m doing something wrong… When I don’t equip the necessary gems to activate my metagem, the spreadsheet still thinks it’s active.. I’m using chaotic.. ideas?

i came across a program that i believe has alot of potential (Rawr) http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t21713-rawr_model_development/

atm its beta and there warlock module is not very accurate at best. my question is have you thought about taking over the warlock module and implementing the spreadsheet in there?

I may be missing it, or looking in the wrong spot but I don’t see any DPS added for chaining the Orc racial Blood Fury.

Simple fix though, put

=IF(Race=”Orc”,143/8,0)

in cell F103 of the Gear_Buffs sheet

In the items page (and gems page) I usually add on my own a couple of interesting columns. These display the number of badges needed to acquire a particular item (for badge gear of course), and the DPS/badge gained (for both “with hit” and “without hit” values). This way I know not only which badge gear is better, but also which maximize the DPS/gear-cost ratio, which is very usefyl since earning badge is something quite slow.

Do you have a sheet in the works for the new WotLK talent tree? I’d love to play with the talent build possibilities and see how they affect my dps

I would really like an option to set a shorter amount of time to optimize damage on trash. Something like: if the mob is going to live X seconds, which rotation is going to let me deal more damage?

I wanted the option to create my own talent specs, so I updated your Load_template() macro to make it more dynamic. I could also create a Save_template macro that would set all of the template info, but update the templates_list named range, as well. This would allow increased functionality on the DPS tab…

If you’d like to see the code, send me an email, and I’ll send it to you

There is an error in the Threat coefficient for Searing Pain. It is currently using a 1x modifier instead of 2x. You could also add a section on tanking and threat production with various gear sets. Include an option of not having Bless of Salvation also in this section. This would be very useful for balancing stam and damage for tanking an encounter such as Twins.

I am on a pvp server, so would actually prefer gear that favours resilience and stamina without forgoing dps. Or at least up to a point where i can forgo stamina/resilience for pure dps gear if the value outweights the earlier.

I would like to amend the ratio of the stats to include stamina and resilience, how do i do this in the spreadsheet ? Ive noticed that the excel is purely dps, thus only allocating 0.03 for 1 point in intelligence and 0 to both stamina+resilience.

What proportion ratio would be correct? Many thanks.

Hi,

I’ve seen a lot of people referring to this spreadsheet. I have tried to open it with Open Office - but it crashes it, and I can’t import it into Google Documents.

Any chance of getting either of those to work?

Thanks, I have’ heard nothing but glowing reports of this warlock tool.

Leulier — Much thanks to you for your dilligent work on this extremely valueable tool. Thanks! Perhaps Ive overlooked them, but as far as gems go, I believe the +15 stam blue gem from the fishing daily “Eye of the Sea” as well as the +15 stam gem from a ZulAman quest chain (i believe its called the “Charmed Amani Jewel”?) are not included in the gem list. Easy enough to add it manually (thanks to a great layout), just thought I’de put it out there. Thanks again mate.
