Updated Version 3.0.2c

October 20th, 2008

Fixes various issues reported on EJ and in comments for 3.0.2b.

- Felhunter MPS for shadowbite

- Dark Pact cycle

- TNS-spirit

Not fixing requests to fix item stats or add new items.  Wrath will be here in less than a month at which point all these items will be pointless.  I’m more concerned with making sure the calculations on the sheet are correct than making sure every possible piece of gear is accurate and included.

A note on items and how much dps they contribute.  Currently how items are valued is by using the TNS values.  The spreadsheet calculates your current stats on the DPS sheet and then uses those stats+1 on the respective TNS and then performs a diff on the respective dps.  This tells us how much an additional point of a given stat would contribute to dps.  We then use those stats to determine an items dps value.  This is not a great way to determine how much value a helm will add as chances are you’re already wearing a helm in the spreadsheet and thus the values arent going to be entirely accurate.  I’m hoping I can think of a better way to calculate TNS over the next few weeks, but who knows.  So what all this really boils down to… if you’re hit capped, the values for better items may be difficult to determine as TNS will ignore the value of hit once you’re hit capped.  Something to remember is that no item provides a static dps value.  How much an item improves your dps is variable on all your other stats.  Our stats are a big balancing act, so good luck trying with it :)

Disable the filler spell and then re-enable.

Ok, so seeing how I couldn’t get the spreadsheet working with OpenOffice, I went ahead and installed an old copy of Office XP to use Excell. I updated to the latest service pack and all updates and proceeded to try to work with this spreadsheet again. Everytime the spreadsheet is opened I get this message: This workbook has lost its VBA project, ActiveX controls and any other programmability-related features.

Now when I go to the Gear_Buffs tab to start changing the gear to my current gear everything seems to null out and has the whole #NAME everywhere. Including in the DPS entry where I had a figure before I tried to change anything.

Either I’m doing something wrong or my OpenOffice and now Excel versions are incompatible with this new spreadsheet? (made sure macro security is set to medium and it allows macros to run after asking me for permission)

Ok, sorry I figured it out, it was a VBA library that was needed for the macros to work which I had not installed when installing Excel. Things are working now, will update again if any other issues pop up. Thanks for updating this and keeping it going!

It appears that with a Haunt build (56/0/5), speccing into Pandemic decreases TNS value of crit. Given that Pandemic is the talent that makes Corruption and UA scale with crit rating, I don’t understand how this is possible. Is this bugged?

I’ve just discovered that the ritual of doom spell has been buffed! Now it does not kill anyone and the demon is safely under control for 15 min! And it does huge dps, much more than felguard!
It would be interesting to have it too into the available demons. Still not sure it grants demonic pact and knowledge or is affected by demonic talents however, in which case being able to test the dps would be even more useful.

I noticed as soon as I opened your 3.0.2c version (thanks for picking up where Leulier left off!) that the Hit % was set to 17; is there a new hit cap at 100% for spells?

Well its allways been 17% for 100%hit. but only 16% is possible. Since you can only reach 99% hit vs lvl+3lvl

Uh, cel, it’s NEVER been 17% to get 100% hit because 100% hit has NEVER been possible; that’s why they call 16% hit the ‘hit cap’.

Hence my question - is there a new hit cap of 17% because it is now possible to get 100% chance to hit? Or is this some kind of error in the spreadsheet?

Yes, the hit cap was removed in the 3.0 patch.

@Bakka: Does that mean hit is not as important?
