When I was referring to Drain soul draining x4 on low-life mobs I was talking about this:

http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=47855

It’s already in the game, just can’t be reached until WotLK. Fine if you just want to put this in a todo list, but being able to select this drain soul x4 as filler will be nice since it will be more dps than SB on low life mobs.

A problem I’ve found is that Curse of Recklessness, Weakness and Tongue display a damage in the table when selected.

BTW my Next Stat table is full of negatives value, making the Items page really messed up. This happened often with old Leulier’s versions (particularly with demo builds). Has anyone else found similar problems? Maybe it’s just mine, don’t know (have Office XP)

Yes I’ve noticed the TNS issues as well; it’s when the calculations on the TNS pages don’t match up to main DPS page.

I’ve found one cause where if you switch to Destro Imp build and switch Chaos Bolt out of Backdraft (remove it in the Backdraft sequence, and switch its use to 1 in the table), the TNS values go out of whack. The cause of this I noticed is inconsistant calculation in the mps column for Chaos Bolt. The DPS sheet column does not have the MAX() part of the hit calculation, and the TNS pages do not have the Soul Leech part of the mana cost calculation.

First, I want to say thank you for all the work you are doing with this spreadsheet. It is greatly appreciated. One problem I have had with every version though, and I am not even sure this is a real problem, is that when the “Timbal’s Focusing Crystal” is chosen as a trinket, the grey numbers on the right in the HIT and DPS columns all go negative with wild numbers. I’m not sure if this is a probl;em when it comes to calculating DPS, but I just wanted to point it out.

First i would apologize for my english coz i’m french. i’m wondering why when i use the spreadsheet there is a large difference in dps between your theoretical number and in game dps number? for example, i used a 0/21/40 sacrifice shadowlock and your firelock imp predefines template. The spreadsheet gives me 1800 dps for the first and about 2750 dps for the second template. In game shadowlock reaches 1600-1800 dps et firelock the same. Have you a reason for this?

I wanted to note that when loading my gear with the wowarmory feature, it didn’t recognise my “Blind-Seers Icon”, I think perhaps because the spreadsheet calls it “Blind-Seer’s Icon”, so maybe the apostrophe threw it off. Likewise, maybe other gear names in the spreadsheet are a tiny bit incorrect like this, to cause similar problems.

I did also notice that Hellfire-Encased Pendant is still as fire damage, but it is now converted to +42 Sp.

I think part of the problem with the TNS pages is the multiplier for CoA in the Molten Core Proc. The models tab has the correct 6 seconds, but the TNS page is using a 4 second multiplier.

Thank you for taking on such a large, yet important, project. /bow It seems that the spreadsheet is hit capping as if 99% is the highest hit value. Also when I put an item on that increases my hit past the cap, the DPS always goes down. For instance I was comparing the DPS between the staff of zhardoom and my current scryers blade/dark secrets. I put the staff in the slot and still had the dark secrets off hand equiped. When I put the off hand slot to nothing my DPS went UP 100+ points, not down in dps as would be expected… Don’t get too overwhelmed and thank you again for your time.

I am unable to reproduce any of your findings with such little information. Please provide further details.

As a Metamorphosis raiding warlock I’ve discovered how awesome is Immolate (the demon form ability, not the usual spell): I morph, charge in and trigger my aura, then continue casting as normal. This aura deals an incredible amount of damage, and even taken into consideration the fact that it’s just 15 seconds every 3 minute, my calculations seems to provide a neat dps increase along the fight of around 150-200 dps at least.

That said (just to show that IMHO it can be useful), I’d like to see the immolation aura in the damage table (along backdraft sequence and such). It should not be hard to evaluate it’s damage, just remember that the demon form boost in damage would be a net 20% for it and not around 2-3% like you’ve correctly made for all the other spells if metamorphosis talent has been chosen.

I would particularly be interested in seeing how it really effects dps, since my calcuations could not consider the additional time spent life tapping, due to the quite big mana cost of the ability.

would it be possible to add soulfire to the backdraft rotation options? it has no cooldown now and im curious if it would ever be better to throw one in. also, an option addition like soul fire w/ empowered imp proc(the crit chance) :?

The “eradication” talent is set to only allow values 0, 4, 7, and 10. Allowable values should be 1, 2, or 3.

Equipping Timbal’s Focusing Crystal causes errors (e.g., big shifts in TNS numbers on DPS page and huge numbers on the gems and items page).

I won’t be adding drain soul x4 or soulfire anytime soon if ever. Drain soul even 4x doesnt offer as much dps as shadowbolt. Soulfire still requires an inventory slot per cast. Currently that makes it impossible to use on a regular basis in a raiding scenario. I also won’t be doing any additions for demo spec anytime soon, if ever. IMO, demo spec locks aren’t real raiders :P

Re: Oldman
The spreadsheet is correct in it’s representation for that talent.

Some more info about the TNS issue posted above, hopefully some of it is useful. I’ve found that turning certain spells off or on on the “DPS” tab spell list causes the TNS values to go crazy IF molten core is set to a positive value (this was done with the destro imp incin spec, and turning molten core to 0 stops the issue from happening in all cases).

The following spells send the TNS values way up (it makes each point of +1 crit rating, +1 dmg, +1 haste, etc…) worth about 30 or more DPS): CoE, siphon life, UA.

The following spells send the TNS values way DOWN (well into the negative numbers, around -20 for some stats): CoA, chaos bolt.

Note that changing the backdraft sequence to include or exclude chaos bolt does not cause the issue, nor does it change the fact that turning chaos bolt on in the spell list causes the issue.

None of the other spells on the spell list, including immolate, all other curses, corruption, all filler spells, conflag, life tap, dark pact, and pet attack, cause this problem. Turning backdraft off also does not cause it.

Hopefully there’s something here you can use. I love the spreadsheet and really appreciate all the work that goes into it, so thanks for everything.

Sorry, found one correction but couldn’t edit my post. Turning chaos bolt on in the spell list causes the TNS to go extremely negative regardless of whether molten core is on or off. This also is not affected by whether or not chaos bolt is included in the backdraft sequence. Turning molten core on when chaos bolt is on causes the TNS numbers to get even more negative.

Also, I didn’t test different combinations of spells, at all. I just set everything to a setting that it worked on and changed other spells on and off one by one.

Sorry, but drain soul x4 will do a LOT more damage than bolts.
Btw, i’ve read on the warlock den than corruption and immolation coefficients have both been raised to 0.20

I take it there will be a new version coming out which include the new patch changes (3.0.3).

I don’t know if you need it, but this might be a thread you might want to take a look at.

And yes, Malhavoc was correct. Blizzard hotfixed a patch on Thursday, which changed the CoA and Corruption coefficients to 0.2 (apparently - I haven’t managed to find hard number proof).

RE: Malhavoc
Do a basic math dps comparison of the two spells. Shadowbolt > drain soulx4 by a fair margin.
